Paper Abstract:
|
Information flux is fundamental in every organization, and in construction industry, it is not an exception, since this type
of industry is a project-oriented business. All the information regardless to all phases of the project is essential to its
success. Therefore, the lack of structure information is one of the biggest problems in all industries, particularly in the
construction industry where the construction sites are distant from the headquarters and not very well organized. The
creation of a web portal that makes possible to access all the important information in real-time, reveals to be an essential
tool in the optimization of the global logistics chain.
This paper intends to present the main developments and results of a web portal implementation in a Portuguese
construction company under a PhD project. |
